This unusual series of portrait was done inspired by Natsumi Hayashi with her famous levitation photos, I bought her book and was thinking how hard could it be to shoot a series of jumping people portrait? It was NOT easy, nor super hard - the result of the first few attempts might be enough for one with lesser determination to quit. From Natsumi's book, she mentioned that she jumped a few hundred times just to get a perfect shot. Natsumi insisted to have everything perfect in one single frame rather than composite, it's really amazing that how she made it to look so effortless and natural. Well, it certainly interests me to see what I could come up with and I love the challenge to make these shot as natural as it could be while projecting the 'levitating' outlook. &.b.t.w. - We split this for 2 separate days. After the first day, our subject Fion experienced whole body of pain resulting from the repeating jumps. Give a big round of applause to our talent, Fion!
&.&.b.t.w. - Done my sharing session at Nikon Penang branch last Friday. It was a great 2.5 hours of experience. Always wanted to know what is it like to speak infront of a group of people. Hope there's even more sessions like this in the future.
&.&.&.b.t.w. - I love watching movies that evokes emotion, that made me felt that I'm not wasting my time in a cinema instead of work. So, I think it must be awesome to be creating great films that evoke emotions too. This is what I'm trying to do with the photo montage above, I'm a dabbler-visual-story-teller, with photographs that is. Will attempt to merge this concept into my wedding work too.
