Throughout the years of shooting living things and non-living things, I realized what I have shot most of the time are making things to look beautiful. I learnt that there are areas that I could further explore such as photos that are emphasized on the mood only. So, with this in mind, I hand picked a high school friend of mine, Tze Pin to model for me to experiment a bit through a male portrait series. The reason I pick a guy because it's harder to shoot a series of photos for a guy compared to shooting for a girl. Sometimes, it's worth making your 'practice' a little challenging and you might just get something out of it by doing things the not-so-easy way. Not sure where this would take me to in the effort of exploring more possibilities in my work, be it in shooting or the editing approach but I would love to keep trying and failing. Shooting a male portrait is never easy, you can certainly pose a girl in many ways but things are a little different and maybe, limited for guys cause you are not supposed to make them beautiful! Hope that you guys enjoy this series, I'm sharing 40 of them which I really like. Have a great week. :)
