Well, the reason of why I wanted to lose weight is embarrassing, really. I couldn’t fit into any jeans of regular size. Felt kinda bad and thanks to the great help of a qualified trainer friend, Sean, I never knew losing weight is that easy.

Sean was a school mate and boy I’m surprised with what I saw from him after about 8 years not getting in touch. He GREW in size. After some catching up, I’ve just realized he is now a certified trainer and based in Petaling Jaya. I’m amazed by his passion in body building and his credentials in this field. To name a few, he is a certified: Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning Coach(NESTA), Strength and Conditioning Specialist(NSCA), Sports Hypnotist(Spenser Institute), Personal Fitness Trainer(ACE), Kettlebell Trainer (IKFF) and so forth.

During my process of losing weight, I only threw in a 30 minutes indoor workout and the most important thing is the food that I take. Thanks to Sean, I’ve got the right knowledge on what to look out for and I never got hungry but ate more meals per day. Not just that, he is capable of motivating me, perhaps because of his knowledge in psychology from his tertiary education.

I also learned that he is pursuing his second degree in Chiropractic, a course that studies about human spine & it’s nerves, optimal relationship of joints, and treatment of musculo-skeletal related problems. I’m worried as I’m typing whether I’d give any facts wrongly cause it’s way out of my knowledge zone! No wonder professionals like doctors look for Sean as their body builder.

Alright, back to what I do best, if you are interested on how to build up your body or losing weight, look for Sean Lee. I did a series of portrait with him earlier and this shoot’s intention is to show the curves of the body muscles. Enjoy the series!

&.b.t.w. – I am very curious about the Siri function of iPhone 4S, with different accents of English, will it be able to function as advertised?

Not sure where this would take me to in the effort of exploring more possibilities in my work, be it in shooting or the editing approach but I would love to keep trying and failing. Shooting a male portrait is never easy, you can certainly pose a girl in many ways but things are a little different and maybe, limited for guys cause you are not supposed to make them beautiful! Viyen’s makeup and hair was done by Joan, we had a fun session. One thing worth mentioning is that when we are shooting the last theme, which is more of sensual. Rain starts to pour and our plan to shoot somewhere outdoor has to be canceled. I get an idea in a sudden, which is to shoot in my room like a studio environment. The last theme was shot all with one flash gelled warm, placed outside the window of my room inspired by Joe McNally. Hope you guys enjoy the series.

This series was shot few months back with Albee. The first day of our shoot turned bad as I managed to get only one shot before it rains like no tomorrow…lol. Below is the only shot we managed to get on the first day of the shoot.

The makeup and hairstyling of Albee was done by Joan. Thank god that the next day the shoot went well and I’m happy to be able to try different approach on the way I shoot with location I have yet to try and a mixture of East and West style of post processing to the images. Glad that Albee loves the end product, the photos and the photobook made for her. Enjoy the rest of the series

Well as the title suggests, this series was shot one year ago. At that moment, despite that I get to shoot subject that ranges from flowers, bugs, children & babies, ladies, brides & grooms, I have never really shot a full series of male portraiture. And so, I called up a high school friend of mine and decided to get myself a series of photos which I have not tried before. We then scout around and stopped near Island Plaza area in Penang, the Tsunami affected area which there are a lot of new houses now as the sun is located just nicely during late noon.

The shoot took about one and a half hours , I’m blessed to have the right kind of sun light and sky that I wanted on the day of this shoot. I find that shooting photos for my ownself is a decent pleasure, I get to try anything I wanted to and it’s part of a process I improve my skills and arts further during my free time.

I love to produce shots that pleasure the eyes and therefore, my approach to shooting portraits are based on two qualities: Beautiful. & Comfortable. Below, there are 2 different series of photos that depict this two different qualities.

Beautiful

Now, let’s start with a series of photos that is beauty centric. Yukie, our subject for this series is not a model by profession nor part time model. This shoot is about making her beautiful.

Yukie is posed and directed by me throughout the shoot.

But of course, if you are a male taking Photo Diary, we will make you look good instead of beautiful. hehe. I would say this photo below is a hybrid, a mixture of beautiful and comfortable – as you can see, there’s a pose there but the expression captured gives people a comfortable view as it is natural.

Next, for this series, we have Yushino as our subject. She is also not a model by profession. The whole shoot is mood centric, it might not have any meaning but, the photos show the mood that the subject wanted to convey/treasure. The whole series would then give people a comfortable feeling when viewing.

Next, back to this shoot. If you haven’t read our services before, this is under Photo Diary. This time, I’m hired by our very own makeup artist, Joan for this shoot. In order to get the right kind of mood for this shoot, we need the right kind of clothes, shoes, makeup & hairdo, location, and props. Makeup and hairdo was done by Joan herself. Other than doing makeup & hairdo for female clients, Joan possesses a good sense in fashion and is very good at giving advice on overall outlook(ie. image consulting). I’m glad to inform everyone that, this ‘image consulting’ service comes free of charge for clients that take both our photographic & makeup services.

Suddenly, the rain poured so heavily but I took the risk. The umbrella was my lighting tool, loaned to her to ‘act’ as a real umbrella. lol~

After the rain stopped, we’re very lucky to get a rainbow that goes from one road to another(one FULL rainbow!). Too bad they couldn’t fit into my lens.

Almost every time after the rain, we get a really great view of the sky during sunset. So, if you are opting to shoot great sky/sunset, go to find one after rain. You’ll be amazed
