Milan Teh

First of all, a big HI! to everyone who is reading this, welcome to Milan Teh Studio. Milan Teh Studio is founded by our principal photographer, Milan Teh. We are based in a beautiful small island known as the Pearl of the Orient - Penang, Malaysia and welcome to our photo-weblog! This is where Milan Teh's photography work will be displayed, his website, and last but not least, his personal blog that depicts what he did and thought - thus the name of 'photo-weblog'. Just thought some of you might wanna know, he speaks English, Mandarin, Malay, Hokkien, and Cantonese.

Milan Teh is a full-time photographer that shoots wedding, portrait, events, and commercial assignments worldwide. He loves traveling around the globe wherever these assignments take him to! As for photographers out there who are reading this, Milan is also available to be hired as 2nd shooter or assistant for your shoot. In addition, Milan offers private coaching on basic-intermediate photography and photo editing skills on a one-to-one basis. Also, Milan Teh Studio would love to contribute to the society by offering free photographic service for charity events or any kind of photographic needs by charitable or non-profit-making organizations. Just click on "Contact Us" above for further inquiries and our availability.

Being a photographer by profession was a not-so-possible-and-impractical dream a few years back for Milan but now he has made his dream come true. Milan started photography because he loves creating images that are visually eye pleasing and beautiful. He then realized it could only be fulfilled via using the camera. He started off with just a mobile phone shooting his mother's plants, scenery and later, ventured deeper with a proper DSLR camera into human portraiture, weddings and event coverage. As time goes by, what's real beauty to him is the feeling and priceless spontaneity that's captured with the camera at that particular instant.

Milan sees shooting a series of photos like creating a diary. The difference is normal people write their diary with a pen but Milan Teh Studio creates your diary with a series of photos. Hence, Milan Teh Studio's shooting approach will be based on this concept and we're coming out with several products that Milan named them as '... Diary'. Check out the "Services & Rates" above to find out more.

East meets West

It’s the theme Jocelyn & Joe wanted for this wedding held at Penang on last Saturday. Both Jocelyn & Joe met by chance at Jakarta and it’s one of the precious examples on earth that love at first sight transformed into husband and wife. The reception was held at the Arshak Suite of E&O hotel, having only intimate family members and friends to celebrate this very special day.

This wedding has been a very special one to me personally especially the very moving and heart felt speeches one after another, they made my eyes teary on the spot and even when I’m culling the shots to be posted here this afternoon. All these are made possible by Jocelyn and Joe because they led-and-let me to be part of their special day.  I’m really glad that I’m part of their wedding and the energetic crowd and children who had fun at the dance floor are simply amazing!

Well, I think I’m not really good in telling stories in English but I’ll try to improve! Jocelyn, Joe, if you are reading this, I wanted to thank both of you here for having faith in me for capturing your special day at Penang. I was emotionally involved and had every minute of fun even that I’m shooting. :D Have a safe trip back!

Jocelyn has been very very kind. She get out from her chair like every 10 minutes in the middle of the makeup session and keep on digging every little thing she could thought of to let me shoot cause she fear that I might feel bored! She even told Joe to brush the ring so that I could have a shiny one. She’s a lovely bride every photographer would love! :D

And there I have it. Brand new looking rings for details shot! :p

See the yellow ‘thingy’? It’s a garter for the night’s garter ceremony! Which is my first time shooting it.

Isn’t that all the details lovely? Jocelyn is the master mind for them.

Under the witness of the Goddess of Mercy, Joe has thoughtfully proposed to Jocelyn few years back at Kek Lok Si, Penang.

I love this cake. They are so ‘theme based’ and lovely. Most important of all, it’s edible! ;p

Jocelyn was explaining to the guests why there’s a saying in the Hokkien language to tell the elderly to dry their tea cup during the tea ceremony. Something like this, ‘teh lim da da, sin niao ghia sai meh ni zhoh ba ba ma ma.‘ LOL. If you’re not a Chinese speaking person, you might need a translator.

Family and friends, from as far as the US, India, Indonesia, and Scotland all in one place for one special occasion.
