Milan Teh Studio – Penang | Malaysia | International Destination Wedding & Portrait Photographer bio picture

Milan Teh

First of all, a big HI! to everyone who is reading this, welcome to Milan Teh Studio. Milan Teh Studio is founded by our principal photographer, Milan Teh. We are based in a beautiful small island known as the Pearl of the Orient - Penang, Malaysia and welcome to our photo-weblog! This is where Milan Teh's photography work will be displayed, his website, and last but not least, his personal blog that depicts what he did and thought - thus the name of 'photo-weblog'. Just thought some of you might wanna know, he speaks English, Mandarin, Malay, Hokkien, and Cantonese.

Milan Teh is a full-time photographer that shoots wedding, portrait, events, and commercial assignments worldwide. He loves traveling around the globe wherever these assignments take him to! As for photographers out there who are reading this, Milan is also available to be hired as 2nd shooter or assistant for your shoot. In addition, Milan offers private coaching on basic-intermediate photography and photo editing skills on a one-to-one basis. Also, Milan Teh Studio would love to contribute to the society by offering free photographic service for charity events or any kind of photographic needs by charitable or non-profit-making organizations. Just click on "Contact Us" above for further inquiries and our availability.

Being a photographer by profession was a not-so-possible-and-impractical dream a few years back for Milan but now he has made his dream come true. Milan started photography because he loves creating images that are visually eye pleasing and beautiful. He then realized it could only be fulfilled via using the camera. He started off with just a mobile phone shooting his mother's plants, scenery and later, ventured deeper with a proper DSLR camera into human portraiture, weddings and event coverage. As time goes by, what's real beauty to him is the feeling and priceless spontaneity that's captured with the camera at that particular instant.

Milan sees shooting a series of photos like creating a diary. The difference is normal people write their diary with a pen but Milan Teh Studio creates your diary with a series of photos. Hence, Milan Teh Studio's shooting approach will be based on this concept and we're coming out with several products that Milan named them as '... Diary'. Check out the "Services & Rates" above to find out more.

Joan Tan

Next, allow us to introduce you to another member of our studio - Ms. Joan Tan. Joan is our principal makeup & hairstylist responsible for the makeup and hairdo of our clients. Her expertise is on the makeup and hairdo of brides and females.

Previously, Joan was working with one of the bridal houses in Penang as a makeup artist. Throughout her service there, she had been doing makeup and hairdo for a large number of brides varying from Chinese, Malay, Indian, Middle Eastern, and European clients.

Apart learning from renowned professional make up artists, Joan also attended makeup and hairdo workshops in Taiwan. Her ultimate passion is to make her clients beautiful with her style and to excel in this field. She enjoys and is serious about what she does. She always seeks opportunities to improve herself. During her free time, Joan conducts simple makeup classes to teach the ladies the proper way of makeup so they could attend party or events confidently even with only their own available 'tools' and skills. Click on "J Area" above to view Joan's work and announcements when she is organizing a class.

That's all for now and please come back often as we will update the blog from time to time. We love comments! So, do drop us comments so we know who are the nice people out there that are reading this blog and hope that all of you would enjoy your visit! Thank you!

Kenix & Jarvis

Actual day shooting, also known as the Wedding Diary in Milan Teh Studio was the kind of shoot that I think is fun(you get to laugh with everyone or drop tears when a touching scene is in front of you), challenging(no second chance will be given if we miss a shot as what had happened will occur once in a life time only), tiring(we have to pay full attention to what is happening, the lighting, camera’s setting for about 10hours for the shoot or until the event ends) & rewarding(being able to capture moments that will last for life time and nice to hang on wall as an artwork) at the same time.

While I had no experience at all shooting for actual day weddings when I just started off previously, a friend invited me to second shoot for him quite oftenly, his name is Jordan Lye. If not because of him, I won’t be having any single opportunity to experience this on my very own. Jordan guided me a lot about the wedding customs and what will usually happen one after another event. Below are some example of my work on 2009, hope that everyone of you would enjoy the photos. Let’s have the photos do the talking! TQ~

*Up next, a decoration shoot assignment at E&O hotel and Hydro Majestic hotel, Penang.
